... to Xbox, does it always take this long (Around 10min per CD)?

I used to try and do it at 2X due to the fact that the Xbox drive can't always read at 4X. Now though my DVD Burner burns at its slowest at 4X so it is a bit hit and miss really. It does take a long time to get them on the Xbox but once they are there then thats it, it isn't like you have to copy them over everytime you turn your Xbox on.

Burnt as music tracks yeah, NOT as mp3 files.

You mean... Not only do CD-RWs work... but having MP3s on CD-RW works?

Not a bad idea. But the waiting... ugh, so slow.

If i'm going to put some music on i usually set it running and then go down the shops for some food. :)

No. I mean ripping CD's.

You mean ftp the files from one Xbox to another?

Yeah either it's copying them at 2 speed or they've slowed it down so noone accuses them of helping piracy. You could take your Xbox round someone's house and nab a large chunk of their music collection if the Xbox copying was as fast as the PC.

Then again I can do that with my portable HD and a friends PC. :S
