I recently downloaded a game save for wipeout pure for the PSP, i unzipped the folder and put everything into the the sub-folder named SaveData inside the PSP folder.

However, when i try playing the game the save doesn't show up no matter what i do!

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

What was the folder called?

PSP gamesaves usually appear in a folder which contains the product number in the name - usually starting UCES or ULES.

For example, Ridge Racer is product UCES00002 and the save folder is UCES00002000.

If the save you downloaded is from a foreign version, I'm guessing it may have a different product number.

I'd suggest checking the product number on your Wipeout case, hooking the PSP up to your PC and making sure that the save is under the correct folder name.
