Haven't played an old school dungeon crawler in a while.
Not to everyone's taste (IGN's or Gamespot's) still it reminds me of good old Angband, random dungeons, character generation, weird combat and dying after getting loads of cool stuff and having to go and get down to some hardcore battling to get the damn stuff back! :D
Started it around 6 intending to have a quick go and have just got off it now having reached the 3rd dungeon.
Fantastic game, I always thought the Ogre Battle games sounded a bit weird as you had to setup your troops before a battle and then let the AI control them during the battle but it works really well here. You can dabble a bit from the sidelines to get your fighters to heal and switch from defend to attack and tell thewm who to attack but the AI decides WHEN each fighter attacks and all this takes place in realtime so you've got to get those orders in sharpish.
Going through with a giant knuckle fighter, two sword slashing women and a mixed couple of gunners at the back. It's a combination that's working really well to slice through opponents. Really impressed with the whole system.
