OK, I have a router that I want to be able to use in order to get onto xbox live.

The only problem is that I can't get it to work due to the uni's network. Anyone got any ideas?

It won't be allowed ... they don't like that sort of thing, you know.

I got it working, just a shame I can't be on the net at the same time.

I wouldn't bother.

At my Uni they prohibit using their network to supply services such as "DHCP" etc

I.e. Don't use a router.

I'd imagine it'd be the same for yours.

D'oh.

Sorry. :D At home I had a wireless network, which allowed me to plug my Xbox into my PC and then go through the Wireless connection. I'm not thinking straight.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with the router, I'd either plug the Xbox directly into the network, or connect it to your PC.

Try telling your router to use the uni server as a gateway. I.e instead of giving it the DNS address from your ISP.

Failing that, try plugging the Xbox straight into the network.
