Hi,

I hear things like overclocking shortens your hardwares' life, but was wondering if this still applies if temperatures stay normal all the time? I'm using nothing special to cool down my CPU other than a normal heatsink and fan, and I've overclocked my Athlon by 10% so it has gone from 2.4Ghz to 2.6Ghz, but the temperatures of the CPU and motherboard have stayed normal. As of now they're 32C for the CPU and 22C for the motherboard. After about 5-8 hours of use they go up only by 5-10C which isn't much. Will the CPU last the same as a unclocked one because the heat readings are normal?

CPU has been overclocked for 2 months now.

I use the motherboard's BIOS with its 'AI Overclock' feature to give me the 10% CPU increase. Doesn't go any higher than that, and I think it handles all the other details like voltage and such automatically.

Would love 25% though!

You should be fine as long as you don't apply too much voltage to the core.Ive had a 25% overclock for well over a year...
