New series (season 9) started tonight on Sky One.
No more O'Neill, but they have brought in Ben Browder, one of my favourite sci-fi actors, from Farscape.
With Claudia Black currently involved (even if only as a guest star), I'm quite looking forward to this season, after the last got a little stale.

I quite enjoyed Atlantis' first season.
He got promoted again into Hammond of Texas' position the year before.
Anderson starting spending less time from season 7, the producers gradually phased him out.
Unfortunately, the season doesn't get any better; it's halfway through now (starts airing again in Jan), and the cliffhanger is rubbish. Bowder, through no fault of his own, is stale.
Oh, there's no Carter for the first 4 episodes, if you were wondering.
Atlantis is crap as always too, bar the first 2 episodes. There's a retarded ongoing, storyline about Ford and his "new abilities". And Shepphard is a git as usual.

Apparently Richard Dean Anderson has decided not to be involved with this series so that he can spend more time with his young daughter.
Because he got tired of it and didn't want to do it anymore. To say series 9 sucks so far and series 8 was fairly crappy, i don't blaim him.
