A few days ago i deleted pictures and documents from my main computer, i have just realised they are needed urgently by my partner for a buisness venture. Is there any way for me to get theese files back? I have attepted to use system restore but that did not bring back the files. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks In Advance

Well it found loads I could access (certainly as far as text files).

De-frag? Never!

These utils always do find loads of files.

Finding a file doesn't necessarily mean it can be restored, it just means that it's found the file header. Whether the rest of the file is still there and hasn't been over-written is another matter. It's pot luck.

If the drive has been de-fragged at all, you can pretty much forget it.

I used Fast File Undelete a couple of years ago and it found LOADS of files.

Aslong as your free harddrive space isn't over-written by other files/programs you add after deletion you can get a lot back.

(and that was the C drive)

'Undelete' utils are often only successful if used immediately after deleting a file.

Anything that has written to the drive since is very likely to have over-written the files. The longer it is since you deleted them, the less likely you are to be able to recover them.

You say 'a few days ago'... if they were on a 'busy' drive (such as your C drive) there's a good chance they may have been over-written almost immediately.

I think there's something called 'Fast File Undelete'.

Failing that try download.com
