just becaueas you own a PS1 does that mean you have to make your next console a Ps2. Think about it. is there pressure on you what console you decide to make your next purchase?? I recently bought a PS2 from Special Reserve not from pressure but because I want one.But does advertisments from companies make you feel like you have to buy their product? I can't help thinking that maybee magazines and media are slightly "making"people choose the PS2. now dont get me wrong the playstation and PS2 are great but (if not the best) but maybee the media is making these sound more appealing to buyers(we all know that they will be better) but should this be the future of gaming as we know it??????? When the PS1 was released there wasn't much advertisments trying to sell it but something made it seem great and thats why we bought it. Does advertisments for the PS2 sell more?? Should all PS1 owners buy a PS2??

Surley we all have the right to choose what we buy/play?? Or do we? Are we all "brainwashed" to think that what we have is best? Or am I just talking while I am drunk???????

I'd go with the drunk part! But please look at the other stuff!!

We do have a choice on what we buy. Just because people own a PS1 doesnt mean they have to get a PS2. When you see PS2 adverts you dont have to go out and buy one.

Sony want to make money, so they advertise like 99.99% of all companies. Advertising is what makes people buy the product. People eat certain foods as the advert shows a very attractive person eating that food while surrounded by expensive things, and having a good time e.t.c.

If people buy a PS2 because they own a PS1 or the advert has made them buy one then Sony have done it right. We arent being brainwashed. They sell the PS2 and make it sound like you need to have one. Companies who sell products that arent the best will still try to make the adverts look good and they will never tell you the truth. What about all those washing powders that can get out any stain in seconds. If it doesnt get one stain out the advert wont say "Its gets out all stains apart from Oil".

I bought a PS2 because I wanted one, alot of people will buy a PS2 because they know that PS1 was such a success. These people want another console and would buy another Sony one just because the last console was good.

Nobody is ever forced into buying a certain product whether it be a PS2 or Washing powder. Unless someone holds you at gun point.
