The player should be able to choose between a variety of races (including the minor ones), just like Birth of the Federation.
You would organise fleets, build ships, trade and make allies (or enemies), in an interface just like ‘Birth of the Federation’.
Then when it came to attacking ships the interface would change to one like ‘Starfleet Command’ and you could control single ships and organise the attacks, not just give a command and then watch the battle, you could control every aspect of it.
When you are attacking a planet or when enemy ships have been disabled and you transport troops over, you could control the troops just like in ‘Star Trek: Away Team’ (or even first person like ‘Elite Force’) this would enable you to take objectives and even take prisoners and find their plans.
This would enable the objectives to constant change keeping the player interested and would give the game ultimate reply value.
Like if you were attacking the Romulans and one of your ships is captured, your next objective would be to send a team to the Romulan base to rescue the ships crew before the Romulans interrogate them and find out your plans.
This combination would enable the player to control every aspect of the game and would enable the player to get more engrossed into the game.
This was just an idea I had today when I was playing ‘Star Trek: Away Team’ so if anyone else have any ideas of any good Star Trek games feel free to add them here because I am thinking (for a laugh), if we get enough responses we could send them to Activision and they might think about them when they are thinking of making another Star Trek game.
