For those of you who've never heard of it or experienced it I'll warn you, it can become tedious and is likely to appeal to the patient stat-lovers.
Midas is a stock-trading game where you can do many things, overall, it is quite creative and you can choose your level of involvement. You start with 1 000 000 that you can invest wisely in shares or blow on a shopping spree.
Throughout the course of your midas experience you can become a freelancer, where you're paid game money to write articles for the game newspaper, a lawyer and even lead a political party to government.
As you progress through the different round you'll earn points if you've invested well, and, when you're really rich you'll be able to afford the luxury items.
If you become 'hooked' enough you may sign up for the Aristocratic plan, where you pay a half-yearly or yearly subscription (gone up to about a tenner) so you can transfer cash and assets to other players. This option is for those who are either totally hooked or who are total chumps.
It's not for everyone but the last time I played it I liked it.
For an overview of the project you'll want to http://midas.jotto.no and for the game itself go to jottonia.no (http://jottonia.no)

N.B : It's a Swedish designed site, so expect the Swedish web address, some Swedish speakers and reference to the kroener
