Well Crispin Hunt, their rather fabulous singer is now fronting Gramercy, a band also featuring some bloke from Gay Dad.
They've just been picked up by a major label, and you can listen to some of their stuff at their official website, here:

"To Earth with Love" was one of theirs I think, it might have recently been on a car advert. (EDIT" - It was 'Joy' on the car advert)

I quite like Greenday, for the record.
If you go to the Gramercy website it plays a sample of some of their songs. They've only released one single to date.
I only discovered their existence today, but I loved the Longpigs, especially the vocals.
EDIT:
I think it's five songs it plays samples of, 1 of which is the single, Hold On, though first impressions, I really like 'Possibilities' - the other three songs are only demos at the moment.
And, to RoJ, for me it isn't the political side of things that I'm particularly interested in. I just like the guitar and bass riffs and the lyrics of some of the less politically-aimed songs.
'American Idiot' is an example of their attempts at world issues of the time in song, but just taking the song at the musical face-value makes it ok.
The trouble with Greenday is some of their songs sound a little too similar and they release hits that are played over and over again on the music channels.
*Shrug* forget their awful attempts at depth and they're a decent-enough band.
Perhaps. ^^
Granted their music is a little light and 'mainstream' for some but it isn't all entirely bad. The lead singer has a few issues in the make-up department, but that doesn't make the band gay and there's some good stuff in there.
Anyway, enough about them. I think I'll check out some of Gramercy's stuff, any songs you'd recommend?
