Calling is easy enough
But txting just isn't working, wtfz

I want to text Canada, and the code is 1.
They can text me easily but...I can't them.

Do I just throw the 1 on the beginning or what?

Ahhh thanks mate. My girlfriend is going abroad soon so will be able to text her, and do you do the same if you want to phone them?

She will be made up now when I tell her because I normally have to wait for her to phone the house and that. Plus it only 5p a minute to international calls anyway.

I was working this out yesterday to send to America.

http://kropla.com/dialcode.htm

All I had to do was dial 00, which is UKs prefix code, then 1 for America's international code.

So it was 001(San Francisco area code)(number)

You can get landline phones that support Text messaging. You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service first though. So it's crap.

I'd post something relating to the OP question, but it's already been answered.

You still can.
My mum does it all the time, and it's the most annoying thing ever.

The worst is when she ends her texts with an x.

I was in Holland not so long ago, with a mate because I think holidays are a lot better with mates than family.

Anyway, from Holland I texted my mum to say that I'd arrived, and I just texted her normal mob number. I didn't bother with the +44 bit. It just worked normally for me.
