EDIT: I've solved the above problem now. Apparently MSN doesn't work if your date/time are off, and this was off by miles. Odd that the help files didn't know, even though it gave me an error code. Ah well, sorted.
Oh, and I think freeola have a virus on their servers. I use a few other dial-ups and NTL broadband regularly, and only the FREEOLA connection throws up alert and command boxes (not pop-up windows) saying "You have issues with your registry, visit http://www.regcleaner-xp.de to fix it blah blah blah". Does it on my work laptop which is very well protected, and on this PC which my Uncle has supplied me, which definitely, 100% won't have any spyware or stuff on it - Adaware and the MS virus checker app confirm this.
And this is really going to hit my brother in the pocket. Using his flat while he's away - racked up 6/7 hours already...
Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Administrative Tools>Services
Now scroll down until you get to "Messenger". GO right and look under the start up tab and change it. Right click and "Stop" it, or maybe it's "Disable", I can't remember. Anyway, that should stop those gay little boxes, I had them as well until I changed that setting.
Instal Spyware Blaster, and see what comes up.
