Yes, I'm an emergency retard.

The usual story - my PC died, mid-project work. Windles offered to recover what it could as I fired up word, but I absent-mindedly declined, thinking I'd saved right before I crashed.

Being an emergency retard, I obviously hadn't.


So, I've rummaged around a bit with no success, and google is trying to get me to download stuff to find deleted files.



How can I get to the recovery version of what I'd written?

Could be in C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR_NAME]\Application Data\Microsoft\Word

??? Make sure you can see hidden folders/files etc.

Buh. Looks like they're gone.

*collapses in tears*

Ah well, only a couple of hours work wasted.

Plus the time I was trying to get it all back.

Check the various temporary file locations - C:\Windows\Temp\, C:\Documents and Settings\\Temp\ or something like that.
