Bananas, water, Voltaren gel
ibuprofen/blood thinning paracetamol, ibulieve gel or deep heat.
Ibuprofen tablets are the best, as long as you are not asthmatic.

Comfrey Balm(natrual) is great for muscle pains, I had strained my shoulders and a bit of the stuff was rubbed in and i felt almost instant relief!

You know those Steak Hammers, usually made of wood with metal triangles? People use them for tenderising meat. Get hold of one of those and repeatedly hit the muscle in question until the pain goes away.
