So we have the components:

"Blinder offered the junk food addiction as evidence of the depression, rather than a cause for the crime. This distinction failed to make it into the media accounts of the trial, however. "

"The defense worked.... Many residents of San Francisco were outraged and riots broke out in the city."

"In 1982, California voters approved a proposition to abolish the "diminished capacity" defense."

Soo, becuase the media inaccurately report the legal argument used, a bunch of dumbasses rioted and then abolished laws, on the grounds of their false, presumably unresearched, beliefs.

So people genuinely lacking the mental competence to be in real control of their actions have ever since been tried in the same way as people who had full handle on what they were doing. Because everyone took what they read in the papers at face value?

*Isn't really surprised*

That's it! Dringo, I have a plan!

You should... claim Neal is a twinkie.

Now that would help your case.

Yes.

I think it was the Sky One episode but there were two on Hallmark last night too.

I heard it and wanted to know what the hell it was.

Great show too.

Why does law and order sometimes have Ice-T in it?

Is there any way of predicting when it'll occur, or is it random, like prince phillip's offensive comment generator?

That's the off-shoot show called Special Victims Unit.

There's also another off-shoot called Criminal Intent.

All great shows.
