Soo, becuase the media inaccurately report the legal argument used, a bunch of dumbasses rioted and then abolished laws, on the grounds of their false, presumably unresearched, beliefs.
So people genuinely lacking the mental competence to be in real control of their actions have ever since been tried in the same way as people who had full handle on what they were doing. Because everyone took what they read in the papers at face value?
