Hi there.

I've just installed XP on my machine and I'm finding the fonts a bit, well, ugly. They're not as crisp and smooth as what Apple or Linux has to offer.

Just wondering if any of you crazy cats could enlighten me on any ways of upping the AA on the fonts and making them a bit nicer.

Cheers.

Display Properties --> Appearance tab --> Effects...

There's a drop-down which allows you to choose the method of font smoothing. That should help.

Excellent, cheers WookieMonster, the 'ClearType' smoothing seems to of taken an effect on the look.

EDIT: One last thing, which I don't think is possible; Is there any way of changing the font which is used by the system. For say, menus/window titles/dialogbox text etc.

The current font isn't that great, I wouldn't mind something like Trebuchet MS etc

Yup.

Display Properties --> Appearance tab --> Advanced

You can change all the fonts and colours there.
