Have you tried changing the image size before uploading to imageshack? Use Irfranview or something similar and change the image size to 800 x 600 or whatever you want, save the image and then upload.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a username and password to gain access to the upload functions - otherwise any old weirdo would be on it. There are lots of functions to make it worthwhile. If your Mum won't let you...

It's just a small web community thing I'm building, with an image upload feature - sounded like what you needed.
