I think it's great that this site contains reader reviews (it's one of the main reasons I come here) but there is one thing that really annoys me.

The whole point of the DVD reviews is to help other visitors to the site decide whether they want to buy that product. But most reviewers don't even bother mentioning that they are reviewing a DVD!

Lets face it, most people aren't going to spend 18 pounds on a DVD if they have never heard of the film. Therefore, the reviews should concentrate just as much on the extras, picture quality and sound as they do on the film itself.

What I want to know is: Is it worth buying this DVD if I already have the film on video? Are the extras any good? What about the directors commentary? Is the picture good quality?

I'm not saying that reviewing the film isn't important, but surely on a DVD it is just as important to review the extras!!!

Personally, I like to hear what a person is thinking when they review a movie.

I doubt anyone would buy on a recommendation from a customer review. Most reviews are statements of facts and what is on the DVD, if I want that I can look at the "details" section.

I would much rather hear what someone thought of a movie, what it meant to them, the impression they got from it.

But that's just me.

And The Mummy Returns sucks.

I agree, but I do like to explain the plot and characters first as I see a lot of films for the first time on DVD, therefore not really knowing too much about some films before buying them.

It is hard to get a balance though, especially if a film is really good and the dvd it's on is lousy, like some of the Warner ones.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.

Nothing but admiration. I have been complimented on the church site that I manage through you and everybody thinks I am an IT genius. Your support is unquestionably outstanding.
