I am playing Resident Evil Code Veronica X. Have just encountered the first Bandersnatch, how do I defeat him. I am new to the PS2 and its driving me mad, as I can't get past this stage.

I’ve just played the game recently. The first one you meet is a kind of mini boss isn’t it? The one where the doors lock when you walk in? If that’s him then I suggest you use the machine gun you get when you start. If you don’t have that then just use flame arrows but be sparing, as you need these further on. I would just use the handgun and be nifty on the controls but if you’re struggling then go for the arrows. That guy is pretty easy really, just fire a few shots run then fire again. I think it only takes about 16 handgun bullets. If that’s not who I'm thinking of then it doesn’t matter because all the bandersnatches are the basically same.

The 'H', 'T' and 'P' buttons must be missing from your keyboards...

Also an alternative is to run past the begger. Works most of the time, and you don't have to fight everything, you should conserve ammo for later!
