Right, Bonus gave me some help in the Xbox forum, but there's another problem to fix first.

The router (well, 'gateway', technically) is a BT Voyager 205. the CD (for BT Broadband) obviously came with it, but I just want the gateway, and I don't want to install BT. The package is from my dads house, in case you were wondering.

It would seem that, by installing the router, it automatically installs all the software for BT Broadband. Which is bad, as I don't want it. The gateway then tries to connect to the BT Broadband line, which inevitably, it can't find, as it isn't there. Oddly, the health check says that I am successfully connected. This is most likely due to the fact that there is a line there, just not a BT one. Therefore, whenever I open IE, I end up at "BTWholesale", which basically gives me a few reasons as to why I've been diverted to that page. Al the reasons could well apply to me, really.

So, I guess what I'm trying to ask is, how can I install the gateway, without the BT software?

Thankyou all.

Right, what you might need to do is open IE, click tools -> Internet Options.

In that window hit Connections and in the Dial-UP and VPN section click "never dial a connection" then apply and hit ok then close the browser and try again.

I'm pretty sure I've already done that, and I still ended up at this strange "BTWholesale" page. Once I've re-wired it all tomorrow, I'll give you a print screen, so you can tell what the hell I'm on about.

It is ADSL, sorry :P

The ISP is "abc broadband", who, I realise, aren't very well-known. Only used 'em because BT couldn't get a strong enough signal to our new house or something.

Oh well, I'm guessing this router is ADSL only, so ignore what I said in the Xbox forum, that only applies to cable not ADSL.

To get the Voyager to work, wire it all up then from your PC browser address bar type 192.168.1.1

That will take you to the settings page.

It should open at a quick start page, if not click on Quick Start on the left hand side.

Enter the username and password you need to access your ADSL account, and that should be that.

I'm starting to think that you've actually got ADSL and not cable.

I need to know what ISP you have before I can tell you what you need to do.
