Should it be in London, Birmingham or Manchester ?.

What should the capacity be ?.

Should it be football only or multipurpose (ie, Athletics etc) ?.

Such a stadium should be built in Birmingham. It is centrally located, and has links with the countries main motorways. It would be easy to access from everywhere, and the council has already given its support to the idea. It must be said however that London has the stadia needed to hold a large tournament, and euro 96 proved that, and with the new ones being built for Craven Cottage, and Southampton has a new stadium, having one stadium just to play football is ludicrous, as it would be sittin dormant for the vast majority of the time. If a new stadium is going to be built, it must be multi-purpose, so that it could be utilised for a lot more of the time, not just for finals and internationals

No, it is awarded these stars for facilities, changing rooms, safety, a good view from all of the seats, security system, press facilities, overall design, communication systems, transport infrastructure. The atmosphere inside hampden is never as good as Ibrox or Celtic Park, I would agree, but this does not make these grounds better stadia, but when Celtic park is finished, it will also be a 5 star FIFA ranked stadium.

a 5star hotel can still be crud, as can a 5star stadium. the stars are not awarded for issuses that actually count like atmosphere, pitch standards and capacity, but more for customer service of staff, parking, merchandise facilities

Right, that makes sense, the only 5 star stadium in the world is crap compared to stadia with a lower ranking???

you have also got to take into account that england has some great stadiums around like Old trafford, anfield, elland road etc and they are always getting better.

i think we should not have a national stadium but have the games played around the country at different grounds so it allows everyone a chance to see england. the money the fa were gonna spend on the new ground could then be shared around the clubs helping them improve their stadiums.

But usually all the decent places are filled because of the transport.

Yes, but building where there is already an established Transport infrastructure will make it cheaper and easier to build. More Money saved means bigger bonuses for the FA chiefs.
