I've just finished the graphic novel that's the basis for David Cronenburgs "normal" movie.

It's fantastic. A riviting game of cat and mouse and a superb thriller. Quite similar in feel, if not execution to "Cape Fear" in the threat to the main characters family.

I just hope the movie captures half of the sheer menace that the book emits.

Keep an eye out for the graphic novel and the movie when it finally gets released.

It's Cronenberg with Ed Harris & Aragorn, there's no way it's going to be average and run-of-the-mill.
The trailer is most excellent too, didn't know it was a graphic novel though.

Looks like it'll go some way to healing the wounds left by Crash and Hidalgo.

Huh? "Crash" as in Cronenberg directing? I'd argue it's uniquely Cronenberg.
(I loved it too)

His only real commercial success has been the remake of "The Fly", he doesn't pander to his fan bases expectations. (Speaking of the "The Fly", there's a special edition coming out with the infamous "catmonkey" scene. Can't wait.) Telepod 1(cat) + Telepod 2(monkey) = removed on the grounds of good taste

Check out "Spider" for Cronenberg arthouse with a capital A. That's if anything, more audience hostile than "Crash"

I guess wounds probably wasn't the right word to use in the same sentence as Crash. It's the only Cronenbourg film I've seen that I haven't liked. It's up there with David Lynch films for being something that I just don't get.

But then I try to stear away from the majority of art house type films, so it was probably pretty inevitable that I wouldn't like it.

Brilliant. I've been avoiding the trailer as it supposedly gives too much away. It doesn't (and after reading the book it's a little stupid to avoid it on those reasons too).

William Hurt *looks* like a character introduced later in the book, where it gets into serious Cronenberg territory.

Hmm, this looks pretty good, will have to check this out. Not the biggest Cronenberg fan either, but he's not as much of a tool as David Lynch.
