Not quite as amusing, but I love the irony of their being a place near Nottingham called 'Gotham', but rather than the residents telling everyone how cool they are because they live in 'Goth-Ham'...they all insist on pronouncing it 'Goat-Ham'...

Ah, we have infinite amounts of fun finding funny place names on maps at D of E. One particular favourite i remember is 'Dancing D*cks'. Yes, the long winter evening do just fly by......

On my way to the west a few days ago, I noticed that there were also places called Box, and Studley. Also I saw on the news a while back that there's a village called Nasty
