Randomly flicking through old magazines I've bought in the past to see what I'm gonna keep and to see what's going out in the recycling and have come across this rather unusual bit in C&VG issue 273

Little monsters on the box? I've had a few girls in the Surgery with something similar, nasty business.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't C&VG meant to be a respected games magazine?

Personally I don't see why. Poor grammer and an amazing ability to conjur cheats for a game that doesn't actually exist on two systems.

I can assure you that this issue was a one-off impulse buy.

Digitiser! Where can I go to get decent teletext based gaming goodness and truly funny and random jokes now? I miss thee.

CVG lost it when they tried to go all "modern" to keep up with the other mags.

When they lost Freeplay (that little yellow paper pull-out in the middle of the magazine), ditched their 5 star system, and basically had a makeover, the lost all their character and charm.

Yo well, times change.

No, Future Publishing (I think) stopped publishing it because of the content and told them to clean up their act.

I have to say that I think CVG was slightly better than Gamesmaster.

Ah - shame Gamesmaster hasn't yet gone the same way. The quality in that magazine is just as lacking.

I think CVG's been scrapped now. They stopped making it a few months back me thinks.
