They told me that the connection was definitely fast enough for games, but didn't seem to think that there would be any compatability issues.
Cheers mate :)
Anyone else who feels they may be able to help, by all means do. Thankee.

It's called "ABC Broadband". Seemed to be the only people that could do our area. Damn I wish I'd looked at Freeola...
I can't fault the performance for downloading stuff, but this LIVE problem bothers me.
I'll give 'em a ring tomorrow, and see what happens.
Thanks to you all.
I have to say I'm not that good with these connection issues, makes sure you have no firewalls/security programs on and try different combinations of setups on your xbox (you might need to input IP addresses etc).
Once you've got a connection you can bring security programs back online and see what's blocking you from connecting (if it is one of those).
Edit: whoops you're going for direct connection now... yeah router + 512k+ line should do the trick.
What ISP have you got?
It won't work with ICS, but I was just wondering if it has more chance of workinh through DC.
No idea what the means.
I do a direct connection and it all works fine, just as well as it would if I was using a router.
