Holy funking shizzle this game's good. Started playing it earlier this even and already I've jumped multiple times and shot the crap out of some of the freakiest/best designed monsters this side of Hellraiser. I've been quite suprised really at some of the imagery, to say it's gory and rather....depraived at times would be speaking lightly. But this is all the better for creating some really dirty, almost seedy and damn creepy atmosphere.
Game play wise think a 3rd person horror shooter, in the dark, with people screaming in your ears and god knows what else going on. The game comes into its own with a decent set of headphones, or I'm guessing some 5.1 speakers.
So far I've been running around a prison getting attacked by these monsters that crawl all over the ceilings and walls, and try to stab you in the face. It seems that all the creatures in the game are themed on different kinds of executions because you're in a prison. For example the ones I was fighting earlier are based on people having their heads chopped off in the war, so they have their heads clamped onto their shoulders and all manner of swords and stuff for arms. There's also some really lovely chaps with lethal injections sticking out their backs and one that's based on a firing squad, so it's got machine guns for arms and 3 heads with blindfolds around its eyes.....not the sort of person you'd bring home to meet your grandma.
Anyway, I need to get some sleep. Game's definetly recommended though, if you like slightly depraived horror games, oh and shooting things. But everyone likes shooting things...right?

Yeah i know what you mean, i picked it up a few months back just because it was cheap and i was very supprised. It does make you jump a bit like when you see something run in a room so off you go and follow it but when you go in theres nothing there or your in a cupboard? Did you see the bit think it was in some kind of torture chamber behind a glass wall? The chamber and chair is empty but i think when you look in the room using a security camera theres somebody in the chair getting tortured? Something like that anyway its been a a few months since i played it. But all in all a great game that you can pick up real cheap. Im looking forward to the new one :-D
