Good film, glad I got it (£4, score). Panicked for a bit because I read about a dodgy American edit that took out the bits about Jill and Mr Buttle/Tuttle getting killed, and ended on the bit where they fly up together in the dream sequence - Jesus, talk about ruining a film! But it was the (good) European version I got. I think it's probably more relevant now in this country than ever before, almost prescient.

Anyway, that's my deep thoughts on the film and it's meanings. No wonder I don't write for TheShiznit - God knows I've tried, it's just not gonna happen.

EDIT: For the uninitiated, it's a film about a terrorist state (just like how Brazil is run, hence the title), and how it would work in a country like the US, or here. It's spookily recognisable.

I see Hoskins revived his role from Mario Brothers.

Just for De Niro's weirdest role it's worth having it in your collection.

I've only just unignored you, so saw your list after the Sci-Fi article by Chris.

I'd heard of it before, but didn't have a clue what it was about, just that it was by Gilliam. 12 Monkeys was good, and I had Life of Brian playing as I read that article, so it was fate and stuff.

I hope your funnier on Xbox Live than on this place...
