The lights are blazing. The roaring noise is tremendous. You’re favorite band walks out one by one onto the stage, being cheered on as they get ready to unleash their talent for you.

Imagine a game where you are the manager of that band. Your sole purpose to make sure your guys rock around the country at their very best.

From beginning to end, you would manage every aspect of the band that any normal manager would do, from gigs to festivals, even too stadium events if you are good enough, to your guys set up regarding amplifiers and guitars, to advertising.

You begin with your band after 1 initial gig, which went so well you have had an offer from a another venue, slightly bigger and better, providing you with a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for your band to make it big, and your managerial wallet of course.
You are shown the venue in which you will play, in true 3D, allowing you to zoom in/out and around the house to inspect it. Then using the toolbar, you can place the equipment and such to your liking, along with where the band members will be. Lights and effects could also be added, depending on your budget and progession through the game. Place the guitarist infront of an amp, and bottles will be thrown, as the shrieking feedback deafens everyone.

As well as being able to play the game through with several well known rock bands eg AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica you can even start your own band from scratch, customizing them to your liking, from the hair to the leather, attitude to the style they play on their instrument. Real live recordings from concerts and gigs would be used to infuse the atmosphere, as well as bonus content which could be unlocked after winning the game in certain ways, like real live band footage and interviews etc.

Heres the best feature. You can watch your band perform their set on-stage live, using the set-up you provided, the effects you choreographed, the lighting. The crowd handbanging, moshing, even rioting in the right circumstances, a real concert life simulating. Using several camera angles, such as mid-crowd just above a spectators view point where crowd surfers are in abundance, or on stage, just below, above, from the side, anywhere you please. Even recording portions of your performance for replay value could be included, as each performance would be unique and worth treasuring.

The amount of customization in this game is bound to attact the most avid gamers, especially those who like to rock. But thats the other part, who said it had to be for rock? You could have other games in the seris, just like the recent craze of club football games, for other genres of music such as rap, trance or even pop if you swing that way....

It sounds good but would probbably not have a long life span. It could be a cool internet game. In fact I think there is one like this already from a while ago.

Edit:- Just read Game's post. I thik that might be the game i was thinking of.

May not be my kind of game, but it sounds quite a cool idea and I would be willing to give it a go definitely. Good idea.

There is a game called Rock Manager. But it wan't fully realised.

If you did your thing with a 3D stage, and different crowd sizes, it could be good.

Look for that game, if you like the idea of managing a band.
