OK, I've got £500 and need to replace my tower (current one blew up last night). No need for monitors/Keyboards etc, but ideally would like it to be based around an AMD 64 and able to handle BF2 at the same time.

If only :)

Not sure why I placed a full stop there, but as I'm sure you all guessed, I meant £499.

Had to replace the laptop anyway, so it made sense to go ahead and replace it anyway for now and finally get the uber rig afterwards. Just all came a bit sooner then planned.

Meh

This seems pretty good, decent seller as well.

EDIT: Though ebay is being gay, try it a bit later. It was £329 I think, 3.2GHz, 512 RAM etc.

I wouldn't have thought it was worth buying something for £500 for a short term fix.

Uber rig still specced, but a little way off yet. The uber rig is being paid for by a job I've just landed, but to do that job, I need something inbetween for now to replace my current pile of useless junk. Mobo, processor blew on Monday so little fubard atm.

TBH, gonna replace my laptop early with an Acer AS5021WMLI for £649

I can't remember the specs, but Aldi were selling a new Medion box for £499 which seemed pretty good on paper. I've got an older version of the same Medion for sale, and have been impressed with it.

If you've got an Aldi store local, you might want to pop in to see if they've still got any, and if it's what you're after in a new box.

Plus, I think it got a 5 star rating in computeractive magazine, although I'm not sure how much you value their opinions.
