Ordered one from a Rival Game company who like's to "play". Got a Value Pack + Wipeout Pure + 256mb Sony Duo card for £244 with next day delivery. Looking forward to having a go as I haven't actually touched a PSP yet, quite excited now :) Pure swayed me more than Ridge because of the content that is currently out, cannot wait to try the classic tracks, anyone know if the packs will be out for launch day?
I read on Eurogamer.net that UK PSP's will come with Firmware 2.0 :)
It would make sense if Sony released the 2.0 Firmware with the UK PSP launch...would make sense, but probably won't happen...
Still, 1.52 and 2.0 are currently not able to accept emulators, although 2.0 now supports Wallpaper and has a web browser...

I don't want to risk the import stuff now with all that sony crap going on, plus If it ever brakes I'd be screwed, then there's the possibility of import tax. Plus a US one won't play UK UMD's and now it's only 3 weeks away I may as well just hang on. I am looking forward to Wipeout though, will the existing packs work on the UK one or will they re-release them?
I think you got a bit ripped off with the price. I mean, I bought my PSP Value pack from Videogamesplus.ca with Wipeout Pure for £188 plus p&p.
And a 256Mb stick is only about £20-£30 on Ebay.
But it doesn't matter, the main thing is that you bought the best handheld ever with the best game it currently offers.
Trust me, you'll love Wipeout, it already has FOUR downloadable packs consisting of tracks, music, ships etc.
And theres more to come!
