I think what happened with the shuttle was less serious than they made it seem. They certainly got their moneys worth with all the attention and news coverage. I'm sure NASA and the Government would have preferred all this instead of a boring uneventful mission that wouldnt generate much interest in the news.

Well that's what Billy West, the voice of Fry from Futurama implied (on his forum) so yeah he should know, being in a sci-fi comedy animation and all. :)

Anyway, old Eileen may have got it through the atmosphere, held it in a glide for several thousand miles and made a perfect landing, but the hardest part is yet to come...

Seeing it docked with the ISS, it was quite humbling to think that I've seen some of the station being built, and it's now hanging up there like that.
