Naturally, I had to check out the site to see what he was missing out on, and it turns out to be a small paragraph of foreign text and no links to any other pages whatsoever as far as I can see in firefox. It also features a rather large white space before the text.

No its not. Its a purley futile exercise going against everything W3C, M$, Mozilla & Opera have worked towards over the last 2 years. Unified standards allowing everyone to access the data without restriction via any OS/platform.

lol, I can think of 2 straight off my head, though one has now been fixed. Despite this, there are still a huge ammount of sites out there which will only function in IE. Admittedly, this is now changing, but it hasn't been druiven by browsers. The change has been driven by legislation and changes in the law globally on how people access information online.

IE users don't need to as it's part of the OS unlike browsers such as FF, Opera, Moz which need to raise their awareness to users by running campaigns such as these. Remeber the days when Netscape arrived and everywhere suddenly spouted "Get NS/IE Now" buttons.

I don't get this either. Sure MS have their business practices, but at the end of the day people like my Mum aren't going to know how to install FF when they load up Windows. The onus is on the designer to make sure their site works in as many browsers as possible, which is perfectly achievable - unless you go out of your way to make stuff in more advanced CSS that isn't supported properly, or just design in FF alone and ignore the most popular browser amongst casual users...but I don't get why any self-respecting designer would alienate a majority of the market?

I was just saying i thought it was quite funny that someone has actually gone and done that. I have nothing against Ie but I do use firefox myself. Actually when i moved over to FF I preferred IE, but gave FF a chance and although I still prefer IE in ways, I use FF.

The main reason I use FF is that when you make a website, if it works in FF, because it's so strict, it'll work with any browser!

Why is it ???

If you don't like MS products you don't have to use them. Can you imagine the outcry if people created sites that didn't allow FF users access!

I really can't understand why some people bleat on about Firefox.
If you like to use it then fine, but why is it that a portion of the FF userbase have to continuously knock IE ? And why do they add naff GET FIREFOX links to their websites ? IE users don't ram IE down people's throats in the same way...

I feel better now ;¬)
