I've had my PSP for a couple of months now and want to know what it is like to play online with it. I've head of a program called XBConnect which allows you to go online with games like Wipeout, Lumines, Hot Shots etc which must be quite fun.

But the thing is, I haven't got a wireless router and unless I can get a really cheap one (even second hand if I have to) I wont be buying one. So is there any other way I can play online with my PSP? Like connecting it to the PC via the USB port and connecting?

Obviously that would restrict me from play online on the move but tbh I just want to try it out.

So is there a way to go online with your PSP by connecting it to the USB cable? Will there ever be? Is it possible?

Thank you.

You buy a wireless Linksys router with a built in four port switch for £41, pretty good deal.

A router. We have 2 PCs running through it - mine, which is hard-wired, and another which is wireless.

An access point? Or a router? Thats expensive.

Im getting one for about £20 quid (access point). But I only want the reception in my room, not anywhere else.

I got mine (Actiontec) from a deal NTL were doing. Cost £110 if I remember correctly.

Well my uncle, who happens to know alot about computers, told me to get a wireless access point instead.

And I think i'll do that.

Depends on if you have cable or ADSL how much they cost, but Belkin's routers, in my opinion, are the easiest I've come across to set up and they don't cost all that much.

I already have a wireless router, and I can't wait to get my PSP and play around with the online stuff. :-)

No.

Anything is possible, but not in the near future.

The alternative is for some software that would take advantage of the few current wi-fi hotspots dotted around the country (cafes and shops) which will act in a similar way to a wireless internet connection at home. In fact, this is what Sony and Nintendo intend when the authentic systems are set up...
