What a disappointment. Beautifully directed, but it used the criminal cliche of a music video.

To be honest, Fight Club, Se7en and the work he did on the abomination of a screenplay that was Alien3 (which I enjoyed) gives him a lot of leeway. As you said, two movies fighting for a place in your favorite movies. Mine too. Well, Fight Club is definatley one of mine. I've seen (and read, it's one of those rare beasts where the movie has more substance than th novel) it a huge amount of times.
Fincher - what has he done for me lately? Not a lot, wasn't even massively impressed with Panic Room to be honest. Lots of good stuff on the horizon though; Zodiac, about the... er, zodiac killer (should be Seven-ish) and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, about a guy who hits 50, then starts getting younger. Sweet.
Still, I have Fight CLub and Se7en to keep me busy til then, still fighting for top spot in my favourite movies, like, EVER.
