Hey guys.

Just looking at NY hotels and the La Quinta Inn, Queens has taken my fancy. For it's price it looks pretty good but I just want to find out what the location is like (safety, access etc) and if anyone has stayed there before?

The address is:

37-18 QUEENS BLVD
LONG ISLAND CITY NY 11101

Also if anyone stayed in a nice, cheap hotel there, let me know.

I stayed in the Howard Johnson Plaza, was relatively cheap but we could have got a much better hotel for the same price

We flew on New Years Eve and had the misfortune of people celebrating with bangers and horns from 12 until about 4

I'm not entirely sure where it is, except that it's located a few streets off a section of fifth avenue

I flew with Virgin aswell, very good service and in-flight except on the way back

Can't comment on the hotel as haven't stayed there but Queens isn't exactly a nice area so you might want to keep your belongings close to you as they'll have a habit of going missing.
