Apart from the hand to hand combat.

People'd just wait for two people to get locked into combat and then headshot them both in one shot.

Plus there aren't enough weapons and the climbing's not suited for milti either really.

SC:PT does it much better. Although an all spy deathmatch with decent assault weapons is what is needed in some game and is what I think you're getting at.
