Now, I'm used to watching with RealPlayer. But, since I've had a clean install an' all, and I'm nearly 100% malware / spyware / adware / virus free, I've got no intention of installing anything packaged by RealNetworks (who practically invented spyware).

But I've gotten used to it's theatre mode. Now, if you have never used it, it goes something like this : hit F7 or use menu to scroll into Theatre mode, which fills the entire screen with a black background, and in the middle, a 100% (can be increased / decreased to users taste) size video. Now, Windows Media Player 10 and VLC both have "Fullscreen" modes - however, both of these have to have the video stretched to Fullscreen. You could not have a video recorded in 600x400 playing in a 1024x768 resolution - it would be stretched (whereas with RP it would be 600x400 still).

Now I've been looking and can't say I've found anything, but I'm desperate to catch up on Naruto (which is impossible to watch in Fullscreen as the captions are just too far away from the action)!

Can you help?

Cunning idea. But MPC does it, actually. Yays.

EDIT: By the way, Chad, WMP 10 doesn't. Ah well. I liked MPC better anyway.

I havent used WMP for a while, but cant you untick "Stretch to fit screen" or something like that, then when you go full screen, it doesnt stretch it?

Coin it sounds like you just need a program that lowers your resolution when playing full screen, but i haven't got a clue what would do that.

I use windows media player classic just like chipseh for everything i watch, although it is mostly anime.

Hmm... I watch Naruto (and all my Anime, for that matter) in Media Player Classic with the window maximised. It works fine for me. Then again, I don't mind the tool bar and the general XP blue-ness.
