God, I'd love one of these. A cruiser, not a sports bike. Triumph, Harley or Yamaha. It's unlikely, but anyone ever had/have one? One of my ambitions is a bike tour of Europe. Although they have their disadvantages I'd take a bike over a car anyday.

Was considering taking my bike test as recently as a few weeks ago. A mate at work was the first on the scene at an accident last week. When he arrived, the guy was already dead and had had his arm ripped clean off when he hit the central reservation.
I know I wasn't there but it put me off a bit. I'm just not sure I could trust myself with such power on tap. Had a few 50cc things when I was 17, which were great fun. A mate of mine is mad on them and has a 600cc which he bombs around on. Still not sure I want to take the plunge though, heard so many tragic stories.

Motorbikes may seem like a good idea but then imagine yourself sliding along tarmac at 70mph.

You can get horiffic injuries in cars as well though.
Of course you can, but at least you have some forms of protection in a car, if you come off your bike its just you and the parting air molecules for those brief moments of freedom before mother earth comes to graze your knees.
True. Still hoping to get one though sometime if I can afford it.
