Maybe I could sue them, because it's not as obvious as you think.
Afterall, my jar of bacon bits says Suitable for vegetarians on it....

Hopefully the manufacturer was working on the assumption that common sense prevails.

hmm...what brand was this? Might just have to eat some and get it to make my throat swell up...hate being alegic to nuts :(

Technically, you could sue them, because nut content warnings are a legal requirement. Check the ingredients, make sure it isn't some sort of crap peanut butter which contains no nuts.

However, the suitable for vegetarians thing isn't a legal requirement, so they can use it however they like.
