Well, according to all the media stories I've been reading over the past month or so, Chelsea now have only TWO forwards in their first-team now that Kezman's off to Spain while where Hernan Crespo will be playing next season is still in much doubt.

Eidur Gudjohnsen and Didier Drogba; those are the two.

So... what on Earth, then, has happened to good old Carlton Cole?

I know he's never been first-choice at Stamford Bridge under any of his managers so far, which is why he's been spending time out on loan. But I don't recall having heard him place a transfer request, nor do I remember any reports of his contract being terminated.

It's almost like he's suddenly died or something; vanished off the face of the Earth...?

So, he must be at Stamford Bridge still, surely?
And this will be the season for the club to give him the chance to impress that he clearly deserved three years ago, or whenever he first came onto the scene - in goal-scoring style.

I remember the days when we would all compare him to Everton's 'wondergoal' Wayne Rooney, way back in the day...

The search continues!

Having watched Drogba in nearly every game last season, I was pleased with his contribution. He got 16 goals in his first season in english football, despite 3 months out due to injury, and he set up quite a few with his flick-ons. He had a few bad games, having scored over 100 and won the league with 95 points, I don't think you could say up front is a weakness.

The team doesn't seem to gel upfront, every where else is fantastic, but Drogba has a bit of a Heskey streak in him. Crespo is an odd one fantastic at Milan, had a few good goals at Chelsea, maybe it's the weather?

He'll be sold unfortunately. He's 21 now, so he's not really a prodigy anymore... There was talk of him going to Villa, but looks like Pompey want to buy him.

Crespo's future isn't in doubt. He's playing for us next season. Eidur is now a midfielder, so we still have two strikers. Two very good ones though, so no more signings needed really. Although I wouldn't say no to Gilardino. (or Adam Brodie)

Ahahahahahah

I was thinking about making a thread about the legendary CC

He WANTS to come to Portsmouth, good on the lad.

He would be here now but he wants to train through pre-season to see if he can cut it with Mourinho, who'll make a decision on him at the end of the month.

Hopefully he'll be down at Fratton by the end of the month, for approx. 2 mil. The lazy bas best come good, well, come at the very least

Unfortunately we're also after Paulo Wanchope. Please God, no.
