Well how can you tell people DIDN'T respect him when he was alive?

You can't.

So erm. Sh.

And he ruled.

I spent a few months coming home from school and just watching that last half hour of it.

How about I get you a napkin so you can start eating my ass right away?

Boo-bloody-hoo we don't get a fat northern bloke presenting some low-grade quiz show, my life is SO EMPTY NOW. The guy made money from being a patronising git, he's happy with getting away with it. Don't stain your knitted sweater with tears for not making a shrine to him whilst he was still alive.

Maybe it's a case of you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Whilst he was on air people may have taken him for granted and not cared so much but now they realise he was good at his job.

or maybe I'm stupidly making up an arguement far something I don't really agree with.

I hate how people respect someone on the basis that they're dead.

If you don't respect them alive then it's stupidly hipocritical to say you give a damn they're dead and build up some kind of faux-legacy.
