Zelda:

Some Zelda guy babbles on about Zelda voice acting saying he never thought it would work in Zelda, but ... "That said, I've always felt that if we can use voice in a way that's new and unique, it could be very positive for the Zelda series."

I hope they don't, it would never sound right.
And I like the stupid noises people make.

He also says that new Zelda DS is not - as I said, you fools - is not going to be part of the 4-swords series. And it will also be controller mainly through the touch-screen ...

Revolution:

Gamesradar drag up some patents from somewhere apparently about the controller, which Ninty swifty slash to bit with their über-secretive claws of holdbackery.

Rather obvious - but they did rather strongly debunk the rumour which was all about gyro crap, which makes me happy. Because that would suck - as we all know and agree, don't we? Yes, yes we do. Thanks.

Iwata spewing on about some such rubbish like the downloadable games might be a bit better with better sprites and frame-rates and crap like that.

Reggie's out kissing men and crushing baby skulls in his fists - big man say 'many new franchises with Rev' big man say (rofl m8z!) 'Mature Mario' - although he hasn't seen any of the new Mario himself. Good work, freak boy.

He says the controller will be able to be used for all the downloadable games, which rather limits its Revolutionary aspects, but whatever.

Then some tedious blabble about GBA Micro. Hey! Guess what? Yeah, that's right, still no-one cares.

Stuff:

DS is still out-selling PSP in Japan. 31,376 vs. 25,526 units a week currently.

If you're near any of these places:

Guilfest 15-17 July
Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show 26-28 July
Sunderland Air Show 30-31 July
Nottingham Riverside Festival 05-07 August
Eastbourne Air Show 11-14 August
Northampton Balloon Festival 18-21 August
Town and Country Festival, Warwickshire 27-29 August

So will Ninty be. With playable shiz including Zelda.
Run, children, run.

Simple online multiplayer games by Nintendo will do the job.

Somethng like a Nintendo version of PSO for instance. Or a dumbed down mini-WoW type thing.

My new theory is that Nintendo's CPU for Revolution will be a single thread in-order-core, rather than the multi-core, multi-thread processors of the 360 and PS3. That means that when, in a year or so's time, when developers start developing multithread games, the Revolution will be left behind, unable to cope with these new games.

It fits right in, as multi-thread games take 2-3 times longer to develop, and Ninty say they are going to have development cycles 2-3 times lower than rivals. It's also a lot cheaper to have a single in order single thread core, which will keep costs down, like Nintendo want.

Multithread gaming isn't particularly something that is important right now, but we've never seen a multithread game so there's no way for us to say that we don't want them or need them, like Nintendo are doing. In 2-3 years time, multithreaded games will be commonplace, if not the standard, and I fear the Revolution would once again be left as the crippled, unwanted child for 3rd parties, who won't be able to port over their games (even though in the next generation multiplatform games will be much less common)

I'm guessing by the terms "Air Show" "Balloon Festival" and "Agricultural Show" that it's Ninty going after their much-assbummed family market which really no-one cares about. And the WI, of course. And farmers.

Good work.

Nope. No where in East Anglia. The Donkey Konga tour came last year though.
