i always thought Garbage were a fairly credible band in a world of manufactured crap and 1-hit wonders, they're not really my cup of tea but they at least seemed like a "proper" band.

this illusion was shattered when i stumbled across them playing at "T4 on the beach" (which looked like som eteeny bopper event) and Shirley Manson's lip-synching was little more than woeful.

as i said, not really my kinda band, but they've lost a lot of points for massive cheating.
Don't get me wrong, i can see the point in guide tracks and the like (for example, although now they're a bit bigger obviusly it's all done live; in the early days of Strapping Young Lad i saw them play their cd tracks and play instruments over the top to avoid the cost and stage production they'd need to get all the sound effects and keys in the mix) but to just pantomime seems like a slap in the face for everyone that bought a ticket and paid for a LIVE performance.

I like quite a few of their songs. I don't like quite a few as well.

First two albums were half-decent (Garbage 2.0 and the other one).

Then they went all '80's retro' and became crap.

Garbage by name, garbage by nature. They really aren't very good at all.

true i guess, but it irritates me that it's such a cop out. hell even Tony Christie sang live and he's more of a novelty act than the "artistes" that Garbage portray.

No one who would buy a ticket to "T4 on the beach" would care.
