How many more times would she have to cope with this? But she knew it was her that was the other woman, she was the impostor in the strange three way relationship. She seemed cursed never to have his full attention no matter what she tried.
But why? Didn’t she make love to him enough? Didn’t she cook him wonderful meals? Didn’t she say nothing when he left clothes all over the bedroom, when she could have shouted at him 100 times? What could she possibly do to stop him returning to her?
This time it would be different though. He would be back tonight, she was sure of it. He would see the error of his ways once and for all and she would be the other woman no more.
It was easier than she thought. At first she was worried that she’d get caught, but all she had to do was to be nice and get close enough to drop the arsenic into that poisonous creature’s tea. How easy it was to see her choke on that poison, to watch her call for help until all that filler her eyes was the realisation that her killer was the true woman for the man they shared. She walked from that house with a lighter step, knowing that soon there would be only one lady in her man’s life.
The knock on the door came earlier than expected. She had only just finished washing her hair and had to wrap the dripping blonde strands in a towel before rushing downstairs. But as she opened the door, the man who stood in front of her wasn’t the one she expected.
She knew straight away, as the policeman stood in front of her, that she was suspected. But she didn’t care. With her mother-in-law out of the way, she could have her man all to herself. She would no longer be the other woman.
Good stuff.
