Hmm, I don't think it was Real. It's a huge amount for a substitute. I assume he would be, as Zidane's place is pretty secure. Plus there was that story about them bidding 50 million euros or whatever it was for Ibrahimovic, and that turned out to be rubbish.

Wouldn't be too surprised if it was us.

EDIT - Although actually, it does seem a lot of money. I would imagine Benitez to be more shrewd.

But they've already made an approach for Gattuso, and AC turned it down out of hand. And Chelsea have had a 25 million euro bid for Essien turned down, so I can't see United getting there ahead of them.

Indeed, buying Owen will be stupid since we already have too many strikers, we might as well play 4-2-4 next season! Unless of course Fergie is looking to sell 1 or 2 of our current fowards?
