I have a 2MB connection from a provider that is said to be very good, my problem is with the speed though. When I do a speed test I get results from 1.3MB down to 550k. By pure chance I found a site that lets you check the health of the exchange. Once you put your phone number in it gives info for VP capacity (virtual paths), port capacity and BT upgrade infomation. The port capacity is 'green' but the VP is 'red'. Now, if indeed it is the red VP rating causing me to get ubber low speed tests, and the ISP has no control over fixing the problem, could I get some compensation directly from BT as their product is sold to me incomplete? Incomplete as in 550k-1.3MB isn't 1.8MBs. What j00 thoughts on the matter? The ISP is P*p*x.
Could it be to do with contention ratios?
