Qualifying: Barrichello locks down pole position
Race: It's the Jordan show starring Firman and Fisichella

Rubens Barrichello took pole position, his 5th pole position and his 2nd of the season, blowing away the lap record and was the only man under 1 minute 13. It was perfect conditions as he took pole position away from SR F1's top qualifier De La Rosa, who will be pleased with the front row start.

3rd on the grid was Pizzonia, who has only been out of the top 8 in qualifying once in the 10 qualifying sessions so far this season. 4th was Alonso, who has found some form in the McLaren. Fisichella takes 5th to get back to his good qualifying ways after 2 poor attempts. Ralf Schumacher gets 6th, ahead of Button in 7th, also finding his feet after a dodgy start to the season. Raikkonen completes the top 8.

Full Qualifying Results:

20th M Schumacher (Vampyr) 1m13.375s - (+0.501s)

22nd Montoya (Afrojoe) 1m13.498s - (+0.624s)

There is never any worries about cars pulling out in SR F1 as all 22 cars leapt off the line in perfect sunny conditions. Barrichello got a great start, while De La Rosa just managed to hold off Pizzonia. Barrichello was getting away until Pizzonia lost a bit of ground trying a pass, allowing De La Rosa to chase after Barrichello with the pressure off.

De La Rosa on lap 5 was in reach of Barrichello but Pizzonia had responded and was putting pressure on De La Rosa again. This time, De La Rosa made a mistake and spun, costing him loads of time.

Montoya was making his move from the back of the grid and had already moved up a number of places before he had to retire on lap 15 with a puncture. It was looking bleak for Montoya as Pizzonia was 2nd behind Barrichello. Pizzonia now had Barrichello under pressure and Barrichello cracked as he makes an error, slipping to 4th place and giving Pizzonia the lead on lap 16.

Webber, who was in the top 8 at the time, crashed out of the race on lap 21 off camera. Maybe Barrichello's mistake earlier on was not his fault as Barrichello was forced to retire on lap 23 with a water leak. No points for Barrichello this time.

The race positions were all were messed up now as we were right in the middle of the pit stop window. Sato was a spinner on lap 24 but there was problems at the front for Pizzonia, when he spun off on lap 25, costing him time which he didn't have.

Baumgartner retired on lap 33 with transmission problems, while Klien retired off camera on the same lap with engine problems. The race was on for the lead as half distance approached. Alonso had benefitted from the 3 cars in front of him on the grid had retired or made errors but his pit stop was slow, allowing Verstappen into the lead. Alonso wasn't going to let that situation carry on too long as he took the lead off Verstappen on lap 36.

De La Rosa, trying his hardest to make up for lost time, pushed too hard and crashed into the tyre wall on lap 40. Villeneuve on the verge of points spun on lap 43.

There was then big drama at the front when Alonso's engine blew up on lap 45. This somehow put Firman, who started 13th on the grid, in the lead. Button was chasing Firman down as the top 6 were all still together with less than 10 laps to go. Fisichella started to put the pressure on Button but he didn't have to wait too long to get past as Button retired on lap 63 with transmission problems.

The Jordan's began to run away with the race as the battle was on for 3rd between Verstappen, Ralf Schumacher, Panis and Raikkonen. Verstappen was under a lot of pressure from Ralf Schumacher and ran wide, running back onto the track in front of Raikkonen. Verstappen took too much damage and had to retire on lap 67, while Raikkonen needed a new front wing. Both lost out on potential points finishes. Raikkonen then spun on lap 68 as the frustration began to show.

Firman had a 1.5 second lead over Fisichella, with Fisichella closing at about 2 tenths a lap. There were not enough laps though as Firman crossed the line to win the French Grand Prix. Fisichella makes it the perfect result for Jordan with 2nd. Ralf Schumacher makes the podium with 3rd and Panis completes a 3-4 for Toyota with 4th. Salo salvages something for MG as he takes 5th. Michael Schumacher gets a much needed points finish for 6th, Karthikeyan adds more points for 7th and Pantano takes 1 point for 8th.

PREDICTION WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

6 predictors again so the scoring is 10 for a win, 6 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th, 1 for 6th and 1 bonus point for the closest to the tie breaker. Here are the results:

1st Chris 10pts + 1pt (30pts - +0.053s) - THE CLOSEST
2nd Badgerman 6pts (14pts - +0.403s)
3rd Ineedsleep 4pts (14pts - +0.412s)
4th Jae 3pts (7pts - +0.367s)
5th Shadow 2pts (6pts - +0.568s)
6th Shelljed 1pt (6pts)

The table now looks like this after Round 10:

1st Chris 66pts (4 wins)
2nd Shadow 51pts (2 wins)
3rd Ineedsleep 45pts (1 win)
4th Badgerman 43pts (1 win)
5th Shelljed 38pts (1 win)
6th Icarus 33pts
7th Jae 29pts (1 win)
8= Foreman 12pts
8= Jules 12pts
10th Biggie Little 8pts
11th Notorious Biggles 5pts

Round 10 of 19 complete and once again Pizzonia retains a 13 point lead at the top of the Drivers Championship but there is a group behind that could cut that gap if Pizzonia continues to fail to score. A maximum points haul for Jordan jumps them into 2nd place in the Constructors Championship and cuts Renault's lead by over half from 28 points to 13. Chris had a near perfect prediction round scooping 11 points to Shadow's 2, meaning Chris increases his lead from 6 points to 15.

The next round (Round 11) is at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. Here are the list of drivers and teams required for the predictions: http://www.freewebs.com/gpsr/srf1.htm
