Im now thinking of getting a faster processor (which if I'm correct is a simple job of "plugging it in", kind of like RAM), but I'll also need a new motherboard to support a better processor. What do I have to do when fitting a new motherboard? If I just plug all of my existing parts into it, such as my HDD which is set up to my curent settings, will it all work or do I need to do something to it first/after?
Any help would be appreciated.
Motherboard out, motherboard in.
Yay.
"If you are contemplating replacing the motherboard in an OEM system with anything other than an exact replacement OEM motherboard this procedure is likely going to fail."
If you have an OEM Computer (DELL etc) you will likely have to format.
