I looked on the Internet but as the Turion is so new there dont seem to be any comparisons, aside from AMDs own skewed head-to-heads (For the gaming they put a dedicated ATI GFXC in their machine, while leaving the Intel model with on board graphics - I wonder why it turned out better). For comparison purposes, here are 2 Acer laptops:
Acer Travelmate 8010:
Pentium M 2Ghz
1GB RAM
ATI MRX700
£1300
Acer Aspire 5020:
AMD Turion ML-34 (1.8Ghz)
1GB RAm
ATI MRX700
£900
That's a £400 difference - is that Turion really that much worse to deserve a £400 price cut? Also I hear that the Pentium M will be falling in price soon (in reponse tothe Turion and because of the new 2.2Ghz M), so would I be better off waiting and seeing that M laptop drop by £200 or so or getting the Turion soon? Any knowledge/help is greatly appreciated.
Apparently it's $100 cheaper and 10% faster.
Ferrari Smashi I say.

It doesn't matter anymore. I won't be getting one until September (great!), so by then I can buy that ferrari one with carbon fibre case.
Raedon 9700/9800 is getting old.
The 2800+ is 1.8GHz but only has 512k cache.
The only problem with the Turion is the power consumption and the extra heat of a 64bit processor.
64 bit operating systems will be coming out in force soon.
